What is an electric gel blaster?
An electric gel blaster is a battery-powered toy that fires 7-8mm water-based gel balls. The balls soak in plain water for about two hours, burst on impact and evaporate, so there is nothing to sweep up and nothing to scrub out of clothes — unlike airsoft BBs or paintballs.

Are gel blasters legal in the United States?
Gel blasters are sold as toys in the US, not firearms. Federal law requires a permanently affixed blaze-orange muzzle tip, and removing it is illegal. Some states and cities have their own restrictions, and you should never carry or display one in public — use them on private property only.

Gel blaster vs airsoft — which should I buy?
Gel blasters win on running cost and cleanup: a 10,000-piece packet of gel balls costs about the same as a coffee, while the same number of airsoft BBs costs many times more and stays in your lawn for years. Airsoft wins on range and upgrade depth, and usually means paying field fees.

Which gel blaster should a beginner start with?
If you want reach and stability, start with a gel blaster rifle like the AUG or AK47. For tight backyard and indoor games, a compact SMG or PDW such as the MP5K, P90 or Vector handles faster. Prefer a sidearm? See our gel blaster pistols. Shotgun fans should look at the M870.
